Here are some rules for conduct on these forums. Breaking any of these rules without a valid reason may result in punishment by infraction points, or your earlier-than-otherwise "retirement" from this website. So read carefully, you're expected to comply with these rules.
- Do not spam in any forum that does not explicitly specify spamability in it's description. Let a spam message be equal to any message that is excessively short, medium in length or excessively long, while conveying no particular contribution (in form of an opinion, extra information or something else) to the topic. Of course, while this may sometimes be appropriate, you are expected to know what is acceptable and what is not.
- Don't swear excessively where it is not necessary.
- Don't be disrespectful to other members.
- Type all topics and posts in English, or you will not be understood. When I say "type in English", I mean using proper, full variants of words. Consciously substituting the personal pronoun "you" for the chatsp33k/shorthand "u" is a textbook example of opening the possibility of getting your chatsp33king behind banned from these forums. Proper capitalisation is not as important, neither is grammar or spelling if you aren't a native speaker of English, or have problems with speaking it, though you should try. In contexts where it is entirely clear that you are making such errors on purpose, you could suffer the appropriate consequences.
- Advertising your projects, websites, forums or whatever else must be limited to your forum signature, or an appropriate advertising forum. Nowhere else, please.
- Don't double post, triple post, or otherwise post n times in succession where n > 3, without a valid reason. The edit feature is there for just that: adding stuff you've forgotten to your posts.
- You may notice no limit is imposed upon the dimensions of your avatar. This will be changed in the near future, but for now you are expected to upload avatars of reasonable dimensions. By reasonable, I mean not so large that it will take up half the page, or shift the content to the right. 120x120 pixels or less should be fine.
- Don't break generally accepted rules by discussing, asking for or linking to anything illegal or unethical.
I may further update these rules at any time.
